Amongst the other disciplines, arts & sciences that Temachtiani Akaxe has studied, he has 30 years polishing the craft of drawing & analyzing the semiotics & symbols of the ancestral Mesoamerican Meta-languages.
He has developed & taught a class at Mahtinauhkalli where he has been teaching how to interpret, understand and draw the potent symbols of the ancient metalanguages.
Because every line, color, placement and element of a symbol affects its meaning and symbolism, he stresses learning the specific process of drawing each symbol, understanding the semiotics behind colors, line-work & elements by studying the codexes, sculptures and the teachings of native elders from the communities in Mexico...
This is important because ensuring the integrity of our studies and how the metalanguage is represented is precisely what will keep this potent and priceless knowledge from being appropriated and turned into the next trend or fad. So that as we continue to build upon the foundations of our ancestral knowledge, it is done with respect.
At Mahtinauhkalli, we take our job as guardians and stewards of the ancient Toltekatl knowledge seriously.
