Our very first Tianquiztli was a success! So many items were brought and given away and so many people are asking for another that we have set the date for our next Tianquiztli: Dec 14th! It will be at 1pm again at Matinauhkalli.

It was beautiful to experience everyone's giving nature! And it was great to see how many good quality items were brought!
We are looking forward to our next Free Store.

Remember barter and sharing is a deep rooted ancestral custom for many. so we are having these Free Stores in honor of our ancestors.

At this Tianguiztli, if you bring something you can take something! No money allowed! Some people were also asking if this is a direct bartering event. Nope! All you have to do is go through your things and looks for items you no longer want or need, but that are still in good condition and are giftable. Then just bring them! Once you arrive we will put your items on the proper tables and you get to roam and browse at your pleasure! No limit on items you can bring and no limit on items you can take!

The point is to share with each other without having to go through the middle-man thrift stores or commercial stores. One person's trash is another's treasure! Reusing items cuts down trash and helps the planet while getting rid of items helps us question consumerism and materialism while getting back in touch with our ancestral roots of bartering instead of using symbolic currency! All around good decolonizing fun!

Here are some pics from our last Tianquiztli:
