We take our responsibility of being stewards & guardians of the ancestral knowledge very seriously. And we know in order to do this, we must have higher expectations of ourselves so that we may honor the legacy of our ancestors & dignify the knowledge they spent generations polishing…
We are so aware of the potency of the ancient knowledge & practices that we feel strongly that we should engage with them the way our ancestors did: with gratitude, service, respect & discipline.
This is why one of the keys to the work we do at Machtia Toltekatl & the classes that Temachtiani Akaxe teaches at Mahtinauhkalli is Self-Discipline.
Disciplines give you the tools to make those changes, they help you cultivate your consciousness & rewire your subconscious, they allow you to confront your ego, to understand what you can & cannot control, what you project & how you perceive, they allow you to push boundaries & take risks in a safe setting, while pushing yourself to become the best version of yourself no matter how painful, thus healing inner wounds while building community, connecting to nature & polishing yourself to become a true leader; for one cannot lead others unless they can first lead themselves. You discover a whole new realm of possibilities & the power to continue on the path towards fulfillment.
This is why we do not share information lightly (online or in person), nor do we teach anything as if it should be regarded as simply as a hobby. After studying all of these disciplines in depth, we realize the power they hold, the impact they can have on us individually & as a society and understand why our ancestors polished them for generations. From the calendar & symbols & warrior disciplines, from archery & danza to the chants, it is all brimming with potent information about our bodies, our psyches, nature & the universe... a legacy & inheritance to dignify and uphold.
