Tianquiztli: Free Store

Our very first Tianquiztli was a success! So many items were brought and given away and so many people are asking for another that we have set the date for our next Tianquiztli: Dec 14th! It will be at 1pm again at Matinauhkalli.

It was beautiful to experience everyone's giving nature! And it was great to see how many good quality items were brought! We are looking forward to our next Free Store.

In today's topic "Synchronizing with the Cycles of Nature: Tepeilhuitl" joven maestro Akaxe will teach us about the current cycle of nature that we are in, named Tepeilhuitl (when the offerings are made to the mountains), what it means to us further north, and how we can synchronize ourselves with it so that we are in harmony with our surroundings.

A beautiful platica, filled with ancient wisdom of how to prepare ourselves for the coming colder and darker season, how to connect with others, and how to dig deep within ourselves.

Matinauhkalli's doors are open! And though we are still polishing the space, the young master Akaxe Yotzin is already focused on service with all of the classes and ceremonies he is guiding! This Saturday he begins the Special Topic Lectures. These lectures will cover different topics each session, from the culture & sciences of ancient societies to the philosophical & applicable tools to decolonize our minds, bodies & spirits.

In November, four special topics have been chosen to set the foundations:

Nov 8th - the Four Principles of the Mazehual: Respect, Honesty, Gratitude and Service
These were the pillars of the ancient societies of the Americas. and the basic tenet of our organization. Learn what a "Mazehual" is, the ancestral meaning of Respect, and the potent effect these simple principles can have on your life.
Nov 15th- How to maintain your connection with Nature in the City
Reconnecting to Nature and living in Mother Earth's cycles is the foundation of our work. Come learn what tools were left behind to remember what you have within, maintain this connection, and ensure you no longer become so easily overwhelmed by the concrete jungle.
Nov 22nd- Synchronizing with Nature's Cycles: the veintena (month) of Tepeilhuitl
As we synchronize ourselves with Nature's cycles and harmonize with them, it is important to be present and conscious to the time we are in. That is precisely why the Tonalpohualli, the meso-american calendar system, based itself on the cycles of nature. In this lecture we will learn about the present month, Tepeilhuitl, and how it influences us.
Nov 29th- Ancestral Wisdom: "Be Like the Star"
The ancestral societies of Anahuak studied their surroundings and learned from them. In this "Ancestral Wisdom" series we will study some of the most poignant of their ancient advices. In this lecture we will learn how we all are luminous beings, and how to embody the lessons we can learn from the Stars.

Tuition: $10 gratitude offering or barter. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
