Matlakyeipohual - 13 Day Cycle
The Ze Kalli Xihuitl Calendar emphasizes the 13 Day Cycles known as Trecenas in Spanish and Matlakyeipohual in Nahuatl. These 13 Day Cycles are based on bioenergetic cycles set by the Sun and followed by all cycles of Nature on the Earth.
The first four houses below show the four basic houses used to express these trecenas according to the direction it is related to, in order: Tlahuiztlampa (East), Huiztlampa (South), Zihuatlampa (West), and Miktlampa (North)
The bottom four houses show how each 13 Day Cycle's initiating potential is integrated into the direction it is related to. It also shows how each symbol holds the first count of the 13 days count. Below we see Ze Koatl (One Snake), related to the Tlahuiztlampa, Ze Itzkuintli (One Dog) related to Huiztlampa, Ze Kalli (One House) related to Zihuatlampa, and Ze Malinalli (One Wildgrass) related to Miktlampa.
