Meditations of Tezkatlipoka
Join us in our new course, Meditations of Tezkatlipoka
Every Wednesdy at 530pm PST/730 pm CST
Beginning October 25th
We will be studying the Meditations of Tezkatlipoka, and the proverbs, socioeconomic history & Huehuetlahtolli that supports our understanding of them
From prayers to profound rhetoric, exaltations of Tezkatlipoka, and recommendations of ways to honor the forces of nature and the universe within us, this course will be a profound study for anyone seeking to deepen their spiritual & philosophical Toltekatl practice with nuanced understanding of the forces we work with.
Join us as we study the wisdom our ancestors left for us.
This course is set to take approximately 6 months. This ancient wisdom is priceless but we feel a monthly payment of $50 is fair to be in sacred reciprocity for the decades of study of the teacher and the time & energy to organize, prepare and administrate the course. After this initial payment we will contact you with steps to set up payments for the next courses and are always open to working with folks to ensure that lack of funds is not an obstacle.
Tonkuikakan Chants Cenyotl - monthly payment
You are invited to join us in our next Nahuatl Chants Cenyotl, a 12 week deep dive focusing on the beautiful chant:
Tonkuikan
(literally: let us sing/cantaremos) is a reverential chant to offer the flower of sadness
This chant was chosen to align with this season of grieving, reflection & collective offerings. It channels the Tonal of sadness, grief, gratitude, and the fulfillment of closing cycles & was chosen intentionally for this time we are living, allowing us to channel the bioenergy of the sadness and grief and sacred rage so many of us are feeling and offer the flower of sadness to our surroundings
Every Tuesday
Nov 14 to Jan 30 (total of 12 sessions)
530pm PST/ 730pm CST
via zoom
This framework for the chants classes that we've been implementing is a great entry point for new students to join and get the background and context around the nahuatl cantos and understand how crucial they were and are to everything from daily life to rituals…
In fact there are many ancient rituals where there was no danza (what today is the preferred form of ofrendas) but there was ALWAYS wind offerings in the form of chants… that is how powerful this form of ofrenda is yet it continues to be largely overlooked by many…
So this course is for those of you who’ve wanted to learn beginners chants in nahuatl and who want to learn both their literal translations as well as metaphorical symbolism and who want to understand when and how different ancestral nahua chants can be used.
Each Cenyotl will focus on only 1 chant (however this time there are 2) at a time so that we can really embrace the meaning and essence of the chant.
Keep in mind that this isn't a theoretical or intellectual class, we will all be taking turns singing during class :) so students will be expected to sing with camera and microphone on along with their fellow students during the live classes. This class is therefore especially good for folks with musical backgrounds, for folks who enjoy offering up cantos as offerings, or who won't be too shy to sing live in the course.
Being present in class is strongly encouraged to help with pronunciation & rhythm
We will have a limited number of spaces available for this Cenyotl to create a safe container for sharing our voices so if you are interested in joining register as soon as possible.
