Every Veintena, a community celebration and/or ceremony was done to convene the people and observe the cycles of Nature. These ceremonies were filled with activities for community-building, and rituals in which the consciousness of each person was made aware of what was already shifting in the subconscious and unconscious.
On Wed April 1st, we will begin the Veintena Tlakaxipehualiztli, (when the Renewal of the Human takes Place). This is the second Veintena of the year and therefore the ideal time in the cycle of the Earth for us to shed our old skins, so that new growth can flourish in sync with the Earth. This is also the perfect time for us to make a vow or resolution that will encourage that growth.

Depending on what we are committing to change we will wear special clothing during the ceremony. Clothing will cover parts of our body associated with what we commit to renew/change and should be made out of butcher paper.
Please wear all white Mazehual attire to the ceremony. Feel free to bring flowers for offerings to the Teopantlamanalli or food to share in community afterwards!
